Welcome to the 4th Annual
Health eMatters Conference

A word from Martine

I’m thrilled to be welcoming you to the 4th annual Health eMatters Conference. Every person attending and participating in this unique gathering has been selected for their important impact in online cancer advocacy. Over the past four years, the conference has grown in scope and reputation. We’re not only seeing an evolution in subject-matter, but in digital communications and platforms themselves.

Among the many ties that unite us today is that understanding and deploying these digital innovations to extend and elevate our online voices for change is essential. Learning to harness the power of video and AI is increasingly more vital. Podcasts and digital platforms like TikTok and LinkedIn are being used more strategically to make stronger inroads in advocating for, and bringing awareness to, our causes.

Over the next three days, we’ll build bridges and bring diverse folks and causes together. We’ll explore some of the equity challenges we face, not only as patients, but as people, to gain greater insights and sensitivities to the barriers that need to be addressed and dismantled. We’ll revisit the art, power and impact of storytelling. We’ll network, learn from one another, exchange and inspire.

Thank you for bringing your passion, expertise and curiosity to this year’s Health eMatters Conference. Your individual and collective voices are invaluable for bringing awareness to the cancer advocacy space, and to our mutual goal of beating cancer.

Wishing you a wonderful Health eMatters 2024!

A warm welcome

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Health eMatters conference! Looking forward to 3 days of networking, building new collaborations and igniting new ideas. What a difference one year makes! It’s been incredible to see all the new opportunities, cross-sections and collaborations you’ve built in just 12 months. Coalitions, board memberships, EDI initiatives, health policy consultations, public forums and speaking engagements to name a few, we’re thrilled to watch the Health eMatters community flourish and harness the power of connectivity and network.

In fact, thanks to a few passionate participants from last year’s meeting, we launched a new spinoff Health eMatters meeting in April 2024 called IMPACT: Bringing EDI to Clinical Trials. The meeting, anchored and led by patient advocates, brought together researchers, clinical trial nurses, industry partners, clinical research organizations, non-profit organizations and hospital administrators across various disease spaces to workshop through solutions to operationalizing EDI practices in clinical trial accruals. What a success that meeting was, we can’t wait to tell you all about it this weekend!

Building on this momentum, we’re continuing to explore new ways advocates can partner, work together, and be heard.

This year’s agenda celebrates the many opportunities to make this happen, from sharpening your ask with AI tools, to starting a coalition, to using your professional network to drive change.

Enjoy the conference!
